Shakespeare's Gardens – Jackie Bennett

About

Wednesday 23 March 2022 | 2pm - 3:15pm
Bromley House Library
Tickets - £8 (Non-member) £5 (Members)

Renowned gardening author Jackie Bennett tells us about the gardens that Shakespeare knew, including five gardens in Stratford upon Avon.

Jackie will explore the plants that Shakespeare knew and wrote about: their use in his work and the meanings that his audiences would have picked up on – including mulberries, roses, daffodils, pansies, herbs and a host of other flowers. The talk will bring together specially commissioned photography of the gardens with archive images of flowers, old herbals, and 16th century illustrations.

This is the first of a series of our Spring Garden Celebration talks.

You can buy tickets for the live event in person at the library or by phone/email.

Zoom talks are bookable on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/shakespeares-gardens-jackie-bennett-zoom-event-tickets-261071069597?aff=ebdssbonlinesearch) and costs £6 (Non-members) £3 (Members)
