Poetry is Dead Good Featuring Mark Grist | Tuesday 24 April | 7 - 10pm

Poetry is Dead Good, Nottingham’s longest running city centre poetry night brings you one of the biggest names in UK spoken word, Mark Grist, alongside great support acts and an open mic!

Mark Grist is a poet and educator who sprung to international fame as the English teacher who turned out to be a Battle Rap sensation

Cost: £5 / £4 concessions

Sexy Poems | Wednesday 25 April | 7.30pm - 10.30pm

Poetry Aloud presents An evening of Sexy Poetry featuring: Di Slaney,  Wayne Burrows, Leanne Moden and Rich Goodson,  plus the poems of the poets drawn in the open mic, sexy draws. 

Cost: Pay what you feel

LeftLion Presents: WriteLion Poets | Thursday 26 April | 7pm - 10pm

A sparkling evening of words from Notts poets celebrating wildlife and the natural world in Nottingham and further afield, with Jo Dixon, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, and more. Hosted by LeftLion’s Poetry Editor, Aly Stoneman, the night will include an open mic segment.

Cost: Free Event

 

These events are part of the annual Nottingham Poetry Festival, which takes place between 20th – 29th April with Roger McGough, Jackie Kay and Hollie McNish among the headliners.

Building on the success of the two previous festivals and working closely with the Nottingham poetry community, Nottingham Poetry Festival 2018 is produced by Nottingham-born poet Henry Normal, Craig Chettle and Tommy Rosley (Farmyard Promotions/Hockley Hustle) and takes place in over 30 Nottingham bars, cafes, bookshops and other venues.
