Tuesday 21st July 2026 I 7pm
Venue: Arnold Methodist Church
Tickets: £1.00 for members and £3.00 for non-members
Mo has worked in the community sector for over forty years, with a career in housing development, and was a founder member of the Nottinghamshire Women’s History Group. However, she has worked more recently, as a Community Historian.
Mo is based in Nottingham and was the Heritage Officer at St Anns Allotments for over eight years. The allotments are Grade II listed town gardens and cover some 75 acres of inner-city St Anns. Mo was responsible for developing and establishing a heritage garden to demonstrate how the gardens looked over time. She was also responsible for the re-creation of the Shepherd's Race Maze and for burying a time capsule within the gardens. Mo developed and ran a community archaeology project for gardeners and local children.
Over the eight years of the gardens being under Mo’s care, they changed from a vandal-hidden, overgrown area with very few gardeners to a vibrant, fully occupied site that welcomes visitors to explore its history and 500+ gardens.
All are welcome to come along and listen to Mo give a fascinating account of this little-known hidden wonder of inner-city Nottingham.
Visitors can attend the talk at the cost of £3
If you wish to join the Arnold Local History Group you can do so also at the annual cost of £10 and entitles you to attend monthly meetings for £1, vote at the AGM and be eligible for election to the committee.
