Saturday 18 November 2023 - Sunday 24 December 2023
Venue: Sundown Adventureland
Time: Varies
Christmas has made its grand return, and it's better than ever, with the beloved Christmas Spectacular being welcomed back by families.
As Christmas approaches, the park undergoes a transformation into a Winter Wonderland, adorned with festive decorations. The annual "Night Before Christmas" ride opens its doors, inviting visitors to embark on a magical journey through the enchanted forest aboard one of Santa's sleighs. The destination is none other than Santa's Magical Grotto, where cheerful elves and the ever-friendly Mrs. Claus eagerly await your arrival. When your turn comes, you'll have the privilege of meeting Santa himself, receiving a thoughtfully wrapped present, and sharing your heart's desires with him.
This year brings an enormous surprise in the form of a purpose-built Four Seasons Arena, destined to host the park's most significant events throughout the year. The best part is that visitors will be shielded from inclement weather, ensuring that the Christmas magic remains undisturbed, even in less festive conditions.
During Christmas Spectacular Weekends, commencing on November 19, the Sundown Adventureland's team of elves will adorn the Christmassy Four Seasons Arena, providing children with the opportunity to interact with these friendly characters. Children can also delight in live entertainment featuring dancing characters and performances by local entertainers Andy and Lewis.
Once you've had your visit with Santa and your treasured present is secured, it's time to explore the remaining wonders of the park. The Four Seasons Arena will transport you back to a traditional time with its enchanting festive lights and the enticing aroma of non-alcoholic mulled wine. If you're in the mood for something more substantial, you can savor hot dogs, mushy peas, and mince pies (but not all together, as that would be quite unappetizing), as well as comforting hot soup and hot dogs for the kids. On a chilly, Christmassy day, these treats will warm you up and keep you energized for more fun with the little ones.
All indoor play areas, cafes, and rides will remain open until the park's closing time.
During the Christmas Spectacular, the park opens daily at 10am, but the closing times vary throughout the festive season (please refer to the opening times link for more details). On Christmas Eve, the park is open from 10am until 4pm, as a festive drink is well-deserved by that time!
Your ticket grants you access to the park for the day, unlimited use of all rides and attractions, a magical journey on the "Night Before Christmas Ride," and a memorable visit with Santa himself. Children over 90cm in height will receive a delightful gift from Santa, while children under 90cm will incur an additional charge of £4.
