Zaboomba came together out of the first wave of Samba that hit the UK in the 90s. The band are all founding members of the original Nottingham School of Samba which was one of the first UK regional Escola de Sambas. Since then they have dedicated themsevles to interpreting Brazlian and Latin music through the ears of the English.
The band play classic tracks (La Bamba, Mas Que Nada, Lambada, Oye Como Va) alongside re-imagined songs from the likes of Booker T, Grace Jones and The Clash, and the shows are drenched in the grooves of samba, cumbia, bossa, rumba, reggae, forro, and cha-cha-cha.
With a unique front line of accordion, flute, guitar, and vocals dancing through a percussive stew of congas, bongos, snare, and surdo Zaboomba play songs of protest, passion, and joy to raise the spirits, shake the soul and get your body moving.
