The Malt Cross is a Grade II listed Victorian Music Hall set at the heart of Nottingham city centre, just off Old Market Square. It is the only Victorian Music Hall in the country that operates as it's original design intended, providing food, drink and live music. Originally built in 1877, the Malt Cross was carefully restored in 1997 to be closer to its former glory. In 2014, the Malt Cross received significant Heritage Lottery Funding and has been restored again but also expanded to make full use of the 6 levels within the site. The caves beneath have been opened up for tours, as well as a brand new art gallery and sound recording room. There's also a brand new craft workshop for schools to come along and get creative.
Today you can be treated to delicious homemade food, their very own blend of coffee, loose leaf teas and even famous cream and crushed maltesers hot chocolate. There is also a fantastic range of continental lagers, wines and a fine selection of single malt whisky. So come and soak up the laid back atmosphere and sample a taste of the Victorian surroundings, whilst listening to live bands (every Tuesday) and sipping on one of the five changing real ales.
Malt Cross is proud to offering a fully accessible venue for both visitors and those looking to hire the venue. More can be learned of their accessibility and hiring process here.
