200 Degrees flagship coffee shop opened in 2014 and is located just off Market Square in the historic Flying Horse Inn, backing on to the arcade of the same name. The shop has lots of original wood panelling and the ground floor has been respectfully renovated to be an amazing space to meet friends or just relax and have some ‘me time’.
This shop is 200 Degrees Coffee as it should be, with one of the best espresso machines available used by their highly trained baristas who ensure that every cup of coffee is poured to perfection.
The deli style sandwiches, salads and soups are prepared on site each morning, and there are also plenty of cakes and treats on offer throughout the day. Vegetarians and vegans have plenty of options with the vegan brownies being particularly good.
200 Degrees roast all of their own coffee in Nottingham and a selection of freshly roasted coffee beans is always on offer, with a choice between the Brazilian Love Affair house blend and a guest single origin or seasonal arabica blend. Please have a chat to the staff about which would suit your tastes, or just try them both. 200 Degrees also serve loose leaf teas, matcha tea, shakes, smoothies as well as Karma Cola and Lemonaid.
As they like to say, ‘Enjoy your cup’.
The Barista School
It's at the Flying Horse Walk shop that 200 Degrees' coffee gurus pass on their knowledge through a wide range of barista courses that are an informal and informative way to learn how to make a great coffee.
There's a science to the art of coffee, and 200 Degrees teach baristas and enthusiasts alike how to simply drink better coffee at home or produce latte art like a seasoned pro.
Barista courses cover everything from basic home brewing methods, through to how to operate a professional espresso machine and advanced latte art.
Dates, times, and booking are available on the 200 Degrees website.
Courses available include:
- Homebrew: £45
- Basic Barista: £75
- Intermediate Barista: £85
- Latte Art: £95
