There's no shortage of restaurants here in Nottingham! Whether you're looking for fine dining or a great value family meal, you'll find something for every taste. Having enjoyed a boom in foodie culture over the past five years, the city itself boasts over 300 cafes, bars and restaurants serving up delicious meals in a huge variety of venues. 
 

Homegrown Independents

Oscar & Rosies is a laid back independent pizza joint in Hockley, which has evolved beautifully from a small indie business to a number one Nottingham pizza place. Another success story is Annie’s Burger Shack, a firm favourite of locals which offers a huge range of burgers, all available in either meat, vegetarian and vegan! Finally, a trip to Nottingham is nothing without visiting our longest running independent, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem. This pub, which is nestled under the rock on which Nottingham Castle stands and dates back to 1189 AD. Here you’ll find tradtional pub lunches in the Rock Bar between 12 and 5pm everyday. Elsewhere there are dozens of cafes and tearooms offering tasty lunches and amazing coffee if you are dining on a budget.

Historical Venues

If you fancy dining in surroundings steeped in history, you'll find plenty of fascinating venues in Nottinghamshire. Try the grand Victorian tea rooms at Kelham Hall, a Victorian stately home with beautiful views across the gardens. For serene country charm, head to Cockliffe Country House Restaurant, a 17th Century Country House set within three acres of mature gardens and private wood seemingly miles from anywhere.

In the city centre, pop along to the historically intriguing place to dine - Iberico World Tapas, which received a Bib Gourmand accolade in the 2013 Michelin Guide. Situated under the National Justice Museum, the Moorish inspired interior is set in the grade II listed county gaol, which boasts 800 years of history.

A short walk out of the city and you’ll find Alchemilla, a newcomer to the Nottingham foodie scene that has been gaining a strong reputation for its creative and unique menu. Descend down the stairs to find yourself in a former Victorian coach house which had been left untouched for over 100 years before chef-owner Alex Bond moved in. Finally, The Larder on Goosegate is situated in one of the original Boots the Chemist stores. The large bright windows were used to let passers-by see the potions being mixed up by the chemists, today making for a wonderful spot for people watching while you eat!

International Cuisine

Nottingham is second to none if you’re looking for exotic tastes. Maid Marian Way is known for its excellent curry houses, including Memsaab, The Cumin and Calcutta Club among others, and is known locally as ‘Curry Mile’ due to the range of choice. For an explosion of colour that mimics the bustle and atmosphere of Bangkok to a tee Zaap Thai Street Food.

Spanish flavours are another a favourite in Nottingham, with Bar Iberico, Escabeche and Bar Esquina all providing sizzling tapas and Mediterranean delicacies. 

If you’re still craving European cuisine, check out Bistrot Pierre for French elegance, or the Warsaw Diner for a mix of traditional Polish food with an American diner vibe. The beer halls of Belgium are brought to Nottingham at Belgo, who’s mussels are famed throughout the city.
