The Canalhouse

About

A highly unique venue that will have you coming back time and time again...

Opened in 2000 on the lower floors of the former Canal museum, the Canalhouse is famous for having a canal that extends into the building complete with resident narrow boats.

The aim is simple, to offer the best craft and world beer experience possible, paralleled with an extensive choice of real ale. With the largest selection of ‘World Beers’ in the East Midlands, travel the world with us guided by our ever changing beer menu. The Canalhouse currently offers over 150 bottled beers from around the world. With a huge selection of wines and spirits and an extensive range of up to 13 trad ciders, 6 real ales and up to 10 craft beers this is truly the bar of choice. A versatile food offer is available daily with up to 15 specials.

At the Canalhouse we have a large events venue above the main bar that can fit up to 200 people, ideal for any occasion from corporate events to wedding receptions. The team pride themselves on their standards and service and can tailor any event to your individual requirements.

A large covered beer garden situated by the canal side enables people to sit outside no matter the weather.
