Nottingham Playhouse

About

Awarded Theatre of the Year 2025 by The Stage and Most Welcoming Theatre of the Year 2023 in the UK Theatre Awards, Nottingham Playhouse is one of the UK’s leading producing theatres, and the impressive Grade II listed building, fronted by Anish Kapoor’s Sky Mirror, is one of the region’s most popular landmarks.

Since 1948, they have been creating bold and imaginative productions: timeless classics, fun family shows and adventurous new commissions, often touring work nationally and internationally. And don’t forget the Nottingham Playhouse legendary family pantomime!

Notable recent productions include: the widely acclaimed world premiere of James Graham’s Punch, based on Jacob Dunne’s story Right from Wrong, a true-life, unflinching account of one fatal punch thrown on a night out in Nottingham, which transfers to London this year.

In 2024, Adam Penford directed a brand-new version of the popular musical Dear Evan Hansen, which is now on a UK-wide tour. Previous shows such as The Kite Runner, have had major success in the West End and Broadway and enjoyed both UK and USA tours.

Added to this is a programme of top visiting shows including big name comedians, stunning dance and high-energy music gigs.

Nottingham Playhouse believes theatre should be accessible to all, and runs wide-reaching participation schemes, youth theatres and its Amplify programme – which...Read More
