Excavations of the Church of St. Polyeuktos and Boukoleon Palace, Istanbul
Every year excavations take place across the Historic Peninsula of Istanbul under the supervision of the Directorate of Istanbul Archaeological Museums. Mustafa Barış Harmankaya, Culture and Tourism Expert and Archaeologist at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums, will join us in person, to discuss excavations at the remains of the Byzantine-era Church of St. Polyeuktos and Boukoleon Palace, sites set to become archaeological parks following their conservation work.
This talk forms part of an ongoing partnership between the University of Nottingham Museum and the British Museum's International Training Programme. 2026 marks a major milestone for the International Training Programme celebrating the 20th programme and the 20th anniversary.
