What is it about bears that makes us love and fear them? This talk will present what we know about human-bear relationships in Britain – taking us from co-existence in the Ice Age to cuddling teddy bears today. The talk will also explore the darker side of our fascination with bears, including recent research on bear dancing and baiting.
Led by Professor Hannah O Regan, co-curator of Bears! Nature, Culture and Beyond and Professor of Archaeology and Palaeoecology in the Department of Classics and Archaeology, University of Nottingham
