BOOKING ESSENTIAL
Suitable for ages 16+

Enter our Georgian doorway, climb the grand staircase and come on an atmospheric journey this Christmas. Discover our collections, hear about secrets from the shelves and members from the past, and enjoy the historic features of this literary gem, established in 1816 and occupying our Georgian town house home for over two centuries.

With principal rooms decorated for Christmas this intimate guided tour for small groups ends in style in our finest reading room where a festive tipple and treat will be served - with time for you to view some of our treasures - many with a seasonal theme too.

The perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of the High Street, step back in time to the 18th and 19th Century, with sounds and smells of the period (nice ones!) ambient lighting, the opportunity to experience the library behind closed doors - we think this will be a highlight of the Christmas Calendar for many.

Our Christmas literary gift shop will also be open for you to browse before or after your tour, as well as opportunity to visit our walled garden.
