Each year Nottinghamshire hosts a wide range of festive markets, selling everything from delicious local produce to hand-crafted gifts and traditional treats. This year won't be any different, with the same festive spirit, sensational seasonal food and great gift ideas, all in a safe setting, you'll get to experience the best of Nottinghamshire's Christmas markets.
The festive season kicks off in the city on Monday 15 November 2021 with Nottingham Christmas opening its doors. Although it might be a little different than the previous years, there’s still plenty to see and do! Expect traditional chalet style market stalls, festive attractions, pop up bars and be dazzled by the city’s 60ft grand fir Christmas tree, decked out with 4,000 red and white lights!
Lakeside Arts is bringing back their contemporary craft and design fair ‘A Little Lustre’ this Friday 5 – Sunday 7 November 2021. They have put together a selection of the very best in a smaller, safe setting, where you’ll find some of your favourite makers, along with new names to tempt you. At Lustre you can buy everything from artisan jewellery and bags to ceramics, glass and tableware – all directly from 40 of the UK's finest established and emerging designer/makers.
From Friday 3 - Sunday 5 December, Nottingham Contemporary's popular event, Craft Fair Contemporary, returns. Shop independent this Christmas with Contemporary's fabulous line up of local independent and UK designers. There will be a wide selection of items for sale to help make Christmas shopping a joy this year - including ceramics, textiles, jewellery, Christmas decorations, homeware, candles, prints, cards and lots more.
If you’re looking for diverse local handmade crafts and foods, you don’t want to miss the Winterfest: Thoresby Arts and Craft Fair on Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 November 2021. Thoresby’s Winterfest is perfect for buying original handmade items straight from the seller, you just might come across something special you wouldn’t be able to find on the High Street.
On Saturday 6 November 2021, the 8th edition of the Handmade with Love Christmas Craft & Gift Market will be taking place. At the Southwell Methodist Church over 50 local exhibitors, artisans and small businesses will be showcasing their products. From soap, and candles to jewellery, clothing and food – you can browse all sorts of handmade products.
For even more craft fair galore, head to Southwell Minster and you’ll be surprised by their Winter Craft Fair on Saturday 6 November 2021. With around 60 stalls and a mixture of returning favourites and new stallholders all lined up for this year’s fair, you won’t be disappointed! As one of the region’s most loved events it is the perfect place to pick up a gift for a loved one whilst helping support independent businesses.
Christmas at Newstead Abbey is full of festivities the coming few months, inlcuding craft stalls with the most gorgeous gifts and tasty treats. From handmade jewellery, fabric gifts and art to wooden and knitten toys, there's something for everyone - even your four-legged friend!
At Belvoir Castle's Engine Yard will be transformed into a winter utopia this festive season, perfect for present shopping from their boutique stores, picking up your festive essentials and indulging in delicious food & drink!
There are also Christmas markets taking place in Mansfield (Saturday 27 November – Wednesday 22 December, 10am – 5pm) and Retford (Sunday 21 November, 10am – 6pm).
