Each year Nottinghamshire hosts a wide range of festive markets, selling everything from delicious local produce to hand-crafted gifts and traditional treats. This year won't be any different, with the same festive spirit, sensational seasonal food and great gift ideas, all in a safe setting, you'll get to experience the best of Nottinghamshire's Christmas markets.
The festive season kicks off in the city on Tuesday 7th November 2023 with Winter Wonderland opening its doors. You can expect all the firm favourites this year including traditional chalet style market stalls, festive attractions, pop up bars and a dazzling 60ft grand fir Christmas tree, decked out with 4,000 red and white lights!
Over at Nottingham Contemporary, you can stop by Craft Fair Contemporary from Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd December. Featuring over 40 designers and makers, they showcase crafts from independent, local sellers as well as creators from around the UK. With a wide selection of items for sale at the festive event, it is the perfect way to shop locally this Christmas. There will be a fabulous variety of contemporary craft and design including ceramics, textiles, jewellery, Christmas decorations, homeware, candles, prints, cards and lots more.
Over at Lakeside Arts, you can enjoy the return of the much anticipated Lustre Craft Fair throughout November. The perfect opportunity for some Christmas shopping in Nottingham, you can expect to see stalls from 50 of today's top designer-makers and craft artists from around the country. All exhibitors are hand-picked to give you the best in covetable, collectable craft, showcasing jewellery, textiles, ceramics, glass, leather, wood and much, much more. You can even commission unique gifts direct from the makers and talk to them about their work.
New for 2023, It's in Nottingham are hosting a Christmas Market at Nottingham Castle. Browse a variety of stalls offering a wide range of gifts, decorations and tasty treats and enjoy live music, carol singing, family-friendly entertainment, delicious food and warming sips of mulled wine as you soak up the Christmas atmosphere. The £1 entry to the market includes access to the Castle, with free entry for Nottingham Castle annual pass holders.
Catch a Christmas Fayre at the new Nottingham Central Library at their Christmas Lights Switch On on 4th December. The Business and IP Centre will be hosting a small Christmas Fayre with their talented members giving you the chance to grab some bespoke Christmas presents for your loved ones.
If you’re looking for diverse local handmade crafts and foods, you don't want to miss the Christmas Market at Papplewick Pumping Station with evening lamp light steaming on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd December. And what's more, all admission tickets to the Station are valid for 12 months, meaning you will get great value when returning in 2024!
An award winning outdoor market with 70+ stall holders offering quality crafts, produce and provisions, the Ruddington Village Market runs on the first Saturday of each month throughout the year. Catch their dedicated Christmas Market on Saturday 2nd December and enjoy live music stages, pop-up bars and more stalls than ever on the High Street!
For even more craft fair galore, head to Southwell Minster and you’ll be surprised by their Winter Craft Fair on Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th November. A mixture of returning favourites and new stallholders are all lined up for what is one of the East Midlands' biggest craft fairs. As with the last few years, the magnificent State Chamber will once again be open where you'll find even more stalls and gifts on sale. So whether you're looking for jewellery, ceramics, embroidery, Christmas decorations or pretty much anything else, this is one fair not to miss!
Enjoy a beautiful Christmas Market at Clumber Park on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th November and Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd December from 10am - 4pm. Soak up the spirit of Christmas, and cross some presents off your list, with over 50 stalls selling handmade treasures and festive delights. Situated throughout the Lincoln Stables, the Turning Yard and the Laundry Yard.
Southwell village also host a Christmas Market in Southwell Market Square on Thursday 30h November, 4.30pm - 8.30pm with unique crafts, Christmas presents, home decor, food and more up for grabs! As well as the Christmas Market, you can expect carol singing and other seasonal activities before the Christmas Lights switch on.
The Patchings Christmas Market open their doors between Friday 24th and Sunday 26th November from 10am – 4pm each day. All exhibitors have been selected because they design and make their products themselves, ensuring all the pieces created are unique. You can expect to see a wide rage of items including textiles, fine art, ceramics, jewellery and glass products – all made with Christmas in mind. This is the perfect opportunity to browse for the perfect and unique Christmas gift do don't miss out! And after you've been shopping, why not treat yourself to some seasonal refreshments in the Patchings Cafe and Pavilion? This event benefits from free admission and easy access free parking, too.
The Beeston (2 Dec), Stapleford (25 Nov) and Eastwood (28 Nov) Christmas Lights Switch on events will also host some fantastic Christmas Markets in Nottinghamshire. You can expect tasty treats and festive items to purchase as well as a range of hot food, sweets and donuts. Also, check out also the festive face painting and the community stalls on site, among other festive events and things to do.
Enjoy the Christmas Market at Arnold Library on Saturday 9th December. Drop into the free market from 10am - 2pm and browse crafts and products from local creators and small businesses. You can find everything from handknitted bobble hats to special jewellery and so much more! Bingham Library are also hosting a Christmas market on Saturday 2nd December, and Sutton in Ashfield Library are hosting one on Saturday 25th November.
Christmas at Kelham Hall takes place on Sunday 26 November, where you can explore a charming handful of gift stalls, perfect for finding that unique, handcrafted present for your loved ones. You can also expect to reindeer, live music, market stalls, and veen children's rides at the event. This event promises to be a memorable day filled with laughter, delicious food, enchanting entertainment, and Christmas magic.
Venture down to Rufford Abbey Country Park on 18th or 19th November for an enchanting day of fun including a festive market and, of course, Santa Claus himself! Explore the stalls for unique gifts, crafts, and delicious treats. Find that perfect something for your loved ones, or even a little something for yourself.
