Learn about the history of Newark Castle from the time of Alexander the Magnificent in the 12th century all the way up to the present day.
 
We will trace the castle’s beginnings under Alexander the Magnificent, the final days of King John, its role in the Civil War, and its later use as a Victorian pleasure garden. You’ll also hear about the current plans that will guide the castle into the 21st century.
