Johann Strauss Gala
Royal Concert Hall Nottingham
Tuesday 2nd January 2018 3pm
Quintessentially Viennese, the music comes straight from the heart as our dancers flamboyantly whirl with billowing gowns and distinctive elegance.
The giddy romance and gilded ballrooms of old Vienna are brought to life by the music of the King of the Waltz and friends. From the gentle humour of Wine, Women and Song with its swirling flourish and brass fanfare, the sparkle of the polka and the toe-tapping, hand-clapping favourite Radetsky March to the evocative Blue Danube Waltz, it’s a much-loved classic, after classic, after classic.
Audition Aria from Die Fledermaus, Vienna, City of my Dreams, Wine, Women and Song, Blue Danube Waltz, Radetzky March plus many, many more of your favourite waltzes and polkas from the Strauss family and friends.
John Rigby conductor
Corinne Cowling soprano
Directed and choreographed by Alexandra Worrall
