Leeds City Stompers

About

Monday 15 April 2024 19:30
Beeston Library
Tickets: £13 Standard

A 'retro' fun evening of 1920s & '30s blues, jazz, swing and ragtime - 1930s drum kit, shiny resonator guitars, double bass & banjo and vocals.

Leeds City Stompers are flying the flag of 1920s & 30s blues, jazz, swing and ragtime. With their mixture of traditional tunes and originals they have played most major blues and jazz festivals.

Line-up: Ian Blackburn (Double Bass) John Arnesen (Drums & Washboard) Martyn Roper (Guitar) + All on Vocals

With their beloved 1930s drum kit, shiny resonator guitars, tweed suits, washboard, double basses, banjos and brogues they bring to life music forms of yesteryear that have influenced and informed the pop, rock, bop and soul music that came after.

This gutsy trio are infectiously wild about the music of yesteryear. Puts a spring in your step!
