Jonathan Dove On the streets and in the sky Ravel String Quartet in F major Beethoven String Quartet in A minor, Op.132 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel's birth. The Sacconi Quartet celebrates with his effervescent, lyrical String Quartet – one of the most beloved in the repertoire. Also featured is Jonathan Dove's On the streets and in the sky, written for the Quartet during the 2020 lockdown and inspired by birdsong against the backdrop of unease. The programme concludes with Beethoven's late String Quartet Op.132, whose sublime slow movement expresses gratitude following illness.
