Leave your expectations at the castle gates and head straight to the swamp for Shrek Jr., a bold, brilliant fairytale with a twist! Brought to life by a dedicated cast of young performers who have rehearsed this larger-than-life production in just under a week, this high-energy show promises fun, laughter, and plenty of heart.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, Shrek Jr. features music by Jeanine Tesori, with a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. When Lord Farquaad banishes a host of fairytale misfits to Shrek's swamp, our unlikely green hero is forced out of his comfort zone and into a quest he never asked for. Joined by a fiercely loyal (and relentlessly chatty) Donkey, Shrek sets off to rescue Princess Fiona, discovering along the way that heroes come in all shapes and sizes and that ogres, like onions, have layers.
*This amateur production is performed in arrangement with Musical Theatre International and is brought to you in collaboration with Copper Studios and Squire Performing Arts Centre.
To take part and be in the cast check out the Shrek Jr. summer school here.
