About

Friday 23 March 2018 | 5pm
Southbank Trent Bridge
Launch Night

Smiffy's Smoke Shack and their phenomenal Authentic BBQ kitchen will be taking over Southbank Bar's kitchen from Friday 23rd March 2018.

They will then operate a 6 days a week restaurant in the venue, bringing their Authentic American BBQ based on the main food styles of the deep Southern States to the idyllic banks of the Trent.

Pitt smoked BBQ, ethically sourced produce, smoked LOW & SLOW over fruit woods for up to 16 hours - cooked to perfection and served juicy, tender and smokey, just the way the pitt masters in America serve theirs!

Tom Holodynsky, the Operations Manager at Great Northern Inns invites you to the launch on Friday 23rd March, and adds there will be live music as well as obviously great quality food.

Customers can expect to see a lot of change at The Southbank - everything from music policy to cocktails, uniforms and even opening hours being tailored to bring out the best in the concept that both Smiffy's and Great Northern Inns hope to achieve. With another refurbishment planned for 2019 - the future is certainly bright for The Southbank Bar - Trent Bridge.

Aaron Smith from Smiffy's Smoke Shack adds:

Smiffys smoke Shack came about with myself and my brother having a passion for the best American BBQ we could produce. Also there's nothing can beat sitting in the sun with a cold beer smoking meat, its almost a god given right!  We decided to get more experience so worked with a few American BBQ competition teams which helped us take our food to the next level. Last year saw us take our BBQ food out to the public who welcomed us with open arms. Smiffys worked last year with Wolfdown pop ups and Nottingham street food, we did pop ups at the Galleries of justice Beer festival, Hockley hustle, the Spiegeltent in the Market square, Chilli bobs festival and catered for many other events. Now we are working with amazing team at The Southbank Bar - Trent Bridge and we feel we have found a real home. An amazing sports bar and live music venue and now a smoke house right next to the river? BBQ's on the Terrace in the sun? What more could we ask for. We are really excited and humbled to have got the opportunity to work the the team from Great Northern Inns. the futures looking brilliant...very smokey and brilliant.
