Nottingham Playhouse has been one of the UK’s leading producing theatres since its foundation in 1948, and their dynamic output continues to shine. In 2019 they won The Stage Regional Theatre of the Year Award in recognition of the creative revitalisation of the theatre under the leadership of Chief Executive Stephanie Sirr and new Artistic Director Adam Penford.

Nottingham Lakeside Arts, located on the beautiful High Fields campus of the University of Nottingham, host a varied programme of performances throughout the year, from thought-proving plays and avant-garde international dance, and have developed an excellent reputation for their heart-warming family theatre.
Nottingham also has a thriving independent and fringe theatre scene, with Nottingham Arts Theatre and the Lace Market Theatre both offering high quality in-house productions as well as offbeat fringe theatre, comedy and events.
Whilst primarily a cinema, Broadway is the hub of the lively, independent Hockley district’s entertainment scene - they regularly screen National Theatre Live events from across the globe.
