Visitors to the Midlands National Trust properties this summer are being given the opportunity to win a family day out as part of a photography competition. The competition entitled ‘Picture Yourself in the Midlands’ is aimed at encouraging children to capture themselves, the heritage or the beautiful countryside available at some of the iconic properties that the National Trust maintains. In Nottinghamshire, visitors can seek inspiration at both the Workhouse and Clumber Park, once part of Sherwood Forest. There are three age categories, 5-8 years, 9-12 years, and 13-16 years and the winner of each category will receive a canvas print of their photograph. The overall winner will receive a day out at a National Trust property included lunch and a special guided tour. To enter, all you need to do is upload your image at the dedicated website www.nationaltrust.org.uk/midlandsfreshair by 9 September 2011. There’ll be plenty to see and do with an events programme at all Trust properties across the Midlands and there’s discounts too for with up to two children able to go free when accompanied by a paying adult. Vouchers can downloaded online at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/kidsgofree. Get snapping and good luck.
