On behalf of Robin Hood Camp, Russia we’d like to thank Festival Team and Experience Nottinghamshire for an amazing time we all had at the Robin Hood Festival! We are a Robin Hood Camp in the Moscow region. We love the themes that Robin Hood embodies: the ideas of justice, humanity, support and wit. In our camp kids participate in an exciting adventure in the spirit of Middle Ages. This summer we took our first trip to Robin Hood’s homeland – Nottinghamshire. We brought 28 campers, mostly school age children around 10-15 years old and 6 adult counselors. From Moscow we flew into Heathrow and then had arranged a coach to take us from London to our base in Nottinghamshire – Nottingham University. During our 10 day program we travelled back in time to the Middle Ages of England, learnt about the legend of Robin Hood, visited lots of places relating to the legend, showed strength and team spirit in the heart of Sherwood Forest and of course experienced the Robin Hood Festival, which was the highlight of the whole trip! We visited both opening and closing days of the festival, met wonderful actors, did some archery, listened to music and tried to learn some dances, bought lots of swords and played with the British kids we met. We were very happy to see the traditional English customs, participate in colorful activities and see the living history of Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest! We will keep the bright memories of our vibrant days at the Festival and will use lots of creative ideas we have picked up for our camp activities and tournaments here in Russia. That was the first time for us in Nottinghamshire, but we are sure not the last one and we are looking forward to coming back!   The Robin Hood Camp Team Moscow
