Experience Nottinghamshire’s strategic board has appointed Brad Miller, Managing Director of East Midlands Airport, as its new chairman, effective immediately.

The unanimous decision comes following Derek Brewer’s resignation of the post, in line with his move to London for his new role as Chief Executive and Secretary of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

Brad’s dynamic leadership and strategic vision will serve him well in the new role, leading Experience Nottinghamshire’s strategic board in its commitment to growing opportunities for tourism in the county and driving the visitor economy.

The appointment reflects Experience Nottinghamshire’s future plans, which include a stronger focus on attracting visitors from key international markets and growing the city’s reputation as a first-class choice for business events and conferences.

Chief executive of Experience Nottinghamshire, Jennifer Spencer, welcomed the appointment: “We couldn’t have asked for a more suitable candidate for the role – Brad’s business knowledge and commercial insight will help us achieve our future goals and inject new ideas to the organisation, continuing the strong legacy left by Derek Brewer.”

Brad has held his position at East Midlands Airport since October 2010, forging the strategy and aspirations for the facility and leading a team of over 250 employees.

“Tourism has a huge impact on the local economy and is at the heart of our business,” said Brad Miller. “From hosting world-class conferences and events to encouraging day visitors, I’m looking forward to helping Experience Nottinghamshire reach the full potential for the visitor economy in the county.”
