Goose Fair comes to Nottingham

'AtmosFear' is making its first appearance at Goose Fair. It moves passengers through 360 degrees in all three dimensions. The arm of the ride rotates high in the sky with the end of the arm also rotating along with the passenger seats. The ride is about 23 metres high at the top of the swing to increase the scare factor!

For thrill-seekers there are nearly 100 adult rides and exhibitions at this year's fair.  Alongside the AtmosFear there will be the Touchdown, Magic Mouse, Sizzler Twist, Vertical Limit, Chaos as well as Dodgems, Waltzers, Ghost trains, Matterhorns, Giant wheels, Mouse coasters and Funhouses.
 
There will be more than 500 attractions on site, with plenty of rides for children. And for the traditionalists there are Gallopers (carousels), Chairs and the Cake Walk. Numerous games of skill include darts, hook a ducks, hooplas and cranes (grabbers).

Along with the traditional Goose Fair food of mushy peas and mint sauce, candy floss and brandy snaps, visitors can eat their way around the world with chestnuts and doughnuts to food from the Caribbean, Chinese noodles, Indian kebabs, Spanish churros, paella and French crepes.

One of Europe's largest travelling fairs, this year's Goose Fair is the 718th. It opens at 5.30pm on Wednesday October 3 with the official opening taking place 12 noon on Thursday, October 4 by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Leon Unczur from the front of the Giant Wheel.

The easiest way to travel is by public transport, with regular services from the city centre direct to Goose Fair.  There is no public parking available on site - except for Blue Badge holders.

Hop on the tram or on a bus in the city centre and alight at Forest Recreation Ground.

A Park and Ride service operated by Nottingham City Transport will also run from Queen's Drive. The cost is £5 per car.
