The Great Nottinghamshire Show takes place this weekend, 29 & 30 September, at Highfields Park in Nottinghamshire. We spoke with Andy Whyles, Director of the inaugural Great Nottinghamshire Show, to find out more about this exciting new event... Q: How did the idea for the Great Nottinghamshire Show come about? Johnny Pusztai, a local butcher and legend, approached us with an idea about putting on an event. After looking at the idea for all of 30 seconds we just knew that we wanted to run with it. From the initial idea to where we are now is miles apart, we did not  realise how much demand there was for an event like this In the city… and of course it’s all for a really good cause, the Children’s Air Ambulance service. Q: What can visitors expect when they come along this weekend? A mixture of fun, food, fairgrounds and that festival feel. We have over 80 stalls now with the marquees and stalls selling a range of local produce, from hot and cold food, arts and crafts, as well as locally brewed real ales in the bar. There will be entertainment for all ages including traditional fair rides and games, trampoline, bungee and a bouncy castle world; plus live acoustic music and DJs which are all home-grown talent. There will be chance to win an Audi TT and a Mini over the weekend, as well as getting involved with all onsite activities. We will finish it all off with a fabulous fireworks display on the Sunday evening. Q: What are you most looking forward to at the Show? Seeing all the diverse companies that we have attending, and of course hopefully lots of happy customers. I am looking forward to seeing some of the music acts and food demos to be honest… I do love food and music! Q: What do you think makes Nottinghamshire Great?  The people! The Great Nottinghamshire Show is free to attend, and all are welcome to come along. Find out more at www.greatnottinghamshireshow.co.uk
