Top Notts attractions feature in VisitEngland's to-do list

VisitEngland has compiled a unique list of 101 must-do activities across England, before going abroad. Locals and tourists alike were invited to submit their favourite experiences via Facebook, which were then put to a panel of expert judges who whittled the choices down to just 101. The complete list of  '101 things to do before you go abroad' was launched to coincide with St George's Day on 23 April - and three of the activities can be found right here in Nottinghamshire. The chosen Notts experiences include;

• Go Ape in Sherwood Pines
• Have a pint in England's Oldest Pub, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem
• Taste Colston Basset Dairy cheese

This got us thinking, and we’ve compiled a short list of must-dos which you’ll find only in Nottinghamshire. Oldest, smallest, biggest, longest, first - have you ticked any off the list? Discover the UK’s only known Ice Age art at Creswell Crags Step back in time over 14,000 years and discover Britain’s only known Ice Age rock art at Creswell Crags; a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves which were once home to our ancient ancestors. See stone tools and animal remains which provide fascinating evidence of life in Nottinghamshire during the Ice Age. Catch a film in the world’s smallest cinema, at Screen 22 Grab your popcorn and find a place in one of only 22 cinema seats at Screen 22; the world's smallest cinema. Regularly showing cult classics enjoy the ambience of a cinema with the comforts of home. Take 21 friends, and you can have the whole cinema to yourself! Visit the biggest oak tree in Britain at Sherwood Forest Standing proud in the heart of Sherwood Forest for centuries, the ancient Major Oak has a spread of 28 metres and weighs around 23 tonnes, making it the biggest oak tree in Britain. Take a trip to the legendary home of Robin Hood to stand in the shadows of this impressive natural wonder. Walk the length of Europe’s longest avenue of lime trees at Clumber Park At almost two miles long, the Lime Tree Avenue at Clumber Park is Europe’s longest double avenue of lime trees. Enchanting in all seasons, it provides the perfect walk into the park. See how long it takes you hop, skip or jump the length from beginning to end. Take aim at the UK’s first Angry Birds Theme Park at Sundown Adventureland Ready, Aim, Fire! at the UK’s first Angry Birds Theme Park. Based on the popular iPhone game, and specifically designed for under 10s (sorry, grownups!), the attraction at Sundown Adventureland invites youngsters to navigate their way through a series of tubes, frames and slides.
