Like a lot of other boys his age my seven year old son spends most of his spare time shooting and fighting imaginary 'baddies', as he calls them, and practicing his commando rolls around the house. So it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that when I ask him what he wants to be when he grows up it’s a tough choice between becoming a ninja or a spy. And when I told him he had the real life opportunity to become a special agent as part of his friend’s 7th birthday party he literally jumped at the chance. On a cold winter’s afternoon my own little hero joined eleven of his school friends at Si5 Spy Missions, one of Nottingham’s newest visitor attractions. There they discovered that they were about to join the Shadow Force an elite team of agents who needed to board the UNS battle cruiser Steadfast and defeat the evil Agent Malice. The group was divided into the green and orange team and each provided with a special agent guide to assist them with their mission.  Over the next hour they faced a series of challenges including cracking codes, solving puzzles and dodging cameras and deadly laser beams as they worked their way through the ship to find and disarm a series of time bombs. Thankfully they managed to escape from the ship unharmed and emerged absolutely buzzing from their adrenaline filled experience which my son described as “Dark, cool and awesome!”. So on this mission the baddies were well and truly defeated but I’m sure we’ll be back soon as a family to save the world from Agent Malice and his men but for now mission complete, over and out. Si5 Spy Missions is a must for anyone with a sense of adventure young and old. Parties as small as two people are welcome with three special divisions available including Shadow Force for 6-7 year olds, Silent Fox aged 8 -11 and Covert Sword for 12 years old and above. Open Tuesday – Sunday 10am until 7pm. Further information can be found here.
