Myself, my partner and my family recently ventured into Nottingham on a Saturday night to catch a show at the Capital FM Arena, and to enjoy a delicious meal as a four - something we need no excuse to do! The restaurant of choice for our meal was one I still hadn't tried, despite many promises to myself to go since its launch in Nottingham last year. Most of my friends and family have tried it several times - all with rave reviews, so I've felt like I'd been missing out on an experience for a while. Bill's Restaurant, located on Queen Street, just off the Market Square, is an established chain of restaurants with a glowing reputation not just in Nottingham, but nationally. The theme is a rustic interior, reminiscent of an American-style eating house, with a wide choice of food on the menu accompanied by beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks and of course; ultimately followed by dessert. Our choice of mains was a tough one, as always, with all of us watching our eyes outgrow our stomachs, as we found several dishes each that we could quite easily order. After two glasses of wine, a beer and a coke had been delivered to the table, we decided upon our main courses with much intrigue. The dishes ordered included halloumi and hummus wrapped in a sesame seed bun with chilli sauce, lettuce, yoghurt and fries, as well as a caesar salad and two chicken and chorizo burgers - with tomato, onion, lettuce and accompanying fries. All the portions were hearty in their size, and very tasty indeed - perfect for any rumbling tummies. It's safe to say that the food went down a treat, leaving us full and satisfied ahead of our evening's entertainment. The atmosphere in Bill's is fantastic for a family meal or a get-together with a group of friends. You can quite easily sit and enjoy each others' company for an hour or so, with delicious food and a few drinks. The location is spot on too; in the heart of the city and within a short walking distance of all the cities attractions and entertainment hot spots. It's also worth noting that the menu doesn't stop at evening meals, with a full breakfast and lunch menu also available, as well as the choice to take a spot of afternoon tea. It's safe to say that Bill's lived up to all the great feedback I'd had prior to my visit and I can see the four of us returning to try something new very soon! If this has whet your appetite and you want to give Bill's a try, visit their website to book a table and see what's on the menu at the Nottingham restaurant.
