Some of our team recently paid a visit to one of Nottingham's most exciting new attractions where the name of the game is simple - escape, or should we say Escapologic! This testing challenge of wits invites visitors to take on one of their rooms in an hour to see if they're up to the challenge of escaping. How did they get on I hear you ask? Well here's Claire to shed some light on the teams along with their highs and lows from the night. It was a cold and wet autumn night when we arrived at Escapologic soaked to the skin. Simon, the owner and task master, was waiting for us at a door you could easily miss and led us down into the murky basement to be briefed about what was in store for the next hour. He did a first rate job of setting the mood and getting us ready to ‘escape’. There's a choice of three rooms to escape from - ‘Crypt-ic,’ ‘Con-trap-tion’ and ‘E-p-i-centre’, all with their own well considered theme and thoughtful back story to match. Our party was split in two and we played Crypt-ic and Con-trap-tion! A few more tips on how to play were given to both teams separately and then it was time to see how we fared! ‘Crypt-ic’, the hardest and darkest of the rooms, has a pass rate of 25% and unfortunately we were in the 75% that don’t make it out. The team in ‘Con-trap-tion’ did better as they did manage to escape! But only just in time. It’s an inventive way to spend an hour, and is a great test of your wit, perseverance and logic. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time in the room! Definitely a must do for anyone visiting the city.
