The Vamps were recently in Nottingham to promote their world tour, and are performing at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham this coming May. The show will feature support artists like Sabrina Carpenter, The Tide and New Hope Club. Read on for a sneak peak into their upcoming tour, their 2017 highlights, thoughts on Nottingham and more.

What’s been the highlight of 2017 so far?

Bradley – We were at Kris Kross Amsterdam this year with DJ Triplet, which was great. Other than that we’ve been locked away in the studio working on our music most of the time to be honest.

You’ve worked with many big names already, supporting McFly, Selena Gomez and The Wanted - who would you most like to work with in the future?

Bradley – I think Ed Sheeran would be really fun to work with especially with his new sound. Also, it would be amazing to collaborate with Taylor Swift. We would really like to get into the studio and write some music with them. The DJs we worked with this year were on our last year's list of the people who we wanted to work with, so it feels really nice to say we were lucky to work with them this year.

What can we expect from the tour? We heard that the production will be impressive.

Bradley – Jet-packs! Tristan – You saying that makes me really want to try it. I hope one day it will really happen. Bradley – Because we’ve been lucky enough to do two arena tours, we really wanted no one in the audience to have a bad seat. On the last tour we sold 40 thousand tickets for £10 per ticket, so as many people could come for as cheap price as possible. We also have a long runaway, which means that the people at the back don’t necessary have a bad seat. There’s also a pit in the back, we call it Brad Pit, so people can stand there and get a better view. It all makes the arena feel a bit more intimate, which is really nice.

You played in Nottingham in 2015 during your Arena Tour. Do you have any stand out memory of Nottingham that you’d like to share with us?

James – We like Nottingham. It’s really close to home for me and Connor. Connor – Our families come here, it’s a really nice city.

Have you got time here today to do anything?

Bradley – We’re going ice skating. When I say, we’re going ice skating I mean we’re going to watch Connor ice skate. Connor – I don’t want to go on my own!

Any new music that you may share with the fans for the first time during the tour?

Bradley – Well, we’ve got All Night, which has been out for the past couple of months, so it will be nice to play a slightly different version of it to the fans. Quite often we re-vamp our songs for the tour so they suit the live experience better. On this coming tour we’ll try to fit in three or four songs from the new album so people can hear some of the new material.

Finally, tell us a fact about The Vamps that people may not know...

Connor – We’ve just been to India and did Bollywood dance for the first time! James – We’ve got a couple songs released in India, that we’ve done with a few producers out there. We’ve also done a music video there as well - hence the dancing. Bradley – Well, it wasn’t real dancing, it was more of an our version of dancing. The dance itself was great but we were terrible at it.

The Vamps are coming to Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on 17th May 2017, and there are still some tickets left, with a handful available in the famous Brad Pit area as well.
