Communities in Motion at New Art Exchange

Situated outside the NAE in the Street Gallery, Communities In Motion is an exhibition curated by Lisa Robinson with local photographer Tom Morley. It presents a series of photographs of local Black centres that connect to the history of past, present and future of Black activism in Nottingham.
The exhibition questions: is there a need for a physical Black centre of activism in the city?

Hollow Earth: Art, Caves & The Subterranean Imaginary

Common to every culture and world religion, caves have been an enduring source of inspiration for artists across the ages. Spanning the last century, Hollow Earth at Nottingham Contemporary brings together a wide range of responses to the image and idea of the cave, covering themes of prehistory and myth, ritual and the future.
Nottingham itself sits above a network of almost 1,000 hand-carved sandstone caves, dating back to the Middle Ages.

Immerse yourself in a journey of discovery, where 800 years of Rufford's history is brought to life. You will walk through the interactive experience, encounter characters through the ages, hear stories from the past and even pick up on the smells and sounds from a time gone by.
Rufford Abbey Country Park is the estate and grounds of a former 12 century Cistercian Monastery and country house. One of the main country parks that make up the broader Sherwood Forest area, the attraction is popular with visitors throughout the year.
