The Original Nottingham Ghost Walk is a hauntingly good storytelling tour around the city's historic Castle Quarter. Striking terror into the hearts of young and old, for over 20 years!
Taking place every Saturday at 7pm, the tour starts from Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, the oldest pub in England. Arrive early and you can enjoy a drink or meal in this historic (and haunted!) pub.
The tour will gather outside the pub, where you will hear about the Cursed Galleon of Ye Olde Trip, before setting off up Castle Road, in the shadow of the towering Castle Rock.
As you wander past the castle ramparts and walls, listen out for Queen Isabella's screams, look out for the mysterious Lady in the Light, and prepare to hear of the 28 Welsh princes left to hang from the castle walls. Along the way, you will also hear the disturbing tale of the Human Pin Cushion, the Baby in the Wall and the antics of Marshal Tallard; a French General imprisoned in Nottingham.
Arriving at the graveyard of St Nicholas' Church, look out for the abandoned plague pit and the long lost swamp in the old Broad Marsh - the final resting place for a corpulent landlady.
The tour will finish in the ancient, haunted caves below Ye Olde Salutation, where you will hear of the Haunting Highwayman, and the little girl who lived, died, and still remains in the caves...
