This year marks 60 years since the death of Stan Laurel, one of England's most successful screen comics. Along with his irrepressible partner, Oliver Hardy, their short films across the 1920s and 30s, spanning the move from silents to 'talkies', led to some of the most iconic and beloved movies of that time. Join us for a course which charts Stan's vaudeville roots and his competitiveness with Chaplin, his team-up with Ollie, and his relentless drive for perfection, as we study their films, their co-stars and their ultimate fade away from the limelight. Old Hollywood, classic comedy, and a chance to laugh with the boys once again. A perfect way to spend your Monday nights.
