The piper for the evening will be Andrew Haig.

Andrew has been playing for 8 years. He started in 2010 and progressed quickly, winning the All England championship at Ashbourne Highland Gathering after only 2 years. He has won many trophies and medals for solo piping at various competitions. He has also played abroad in Colombia, France and Finland. Andrew played on Burns night last year live on Nottingham TV. Andrew currently plays with the Nottinghamshire Police Pipe Band under Pipe Major Pat Larkin.

Toast to the Lassies, and the reply is a father and daughter duo – Alan and Roisin Ratcliffe.

Alan would  would describe himself as a man with virtually no redeeming qualities whatsoever. However, he is the proud father of three daughters and is never happier than when he is talking about them up to and possibly beyond the point of boredom for the captive audience.
Roisin is a teacher of A-level biology in a school in West London. She is a talented musician and when she was younger wanted to join a well known music group but they said they had no vacancy for a “Feisty Spice”.

The Address to The Haggis will be dramatised by Kevin McLeman who will also deliver our Immortal Memory.

Kevin originates from Stornoway in the Western Isles of Scotland. He left the Islands at the age of 16 to pursue a military career in the Royal Engineers retiring 3 years ago after accumulating 26 years’ service man and boy. During his 26 years’ service he introduced Burns Suppers to every unit he served with whether they were on foreign soils or active duty, Burns continued to be celebrated. After years of moving from base to base with his family Nikki and two boys Daniel & Lewis he has decided to lay down routes in Nottingham and is loving the English climate, whilst carving out a continued career in Civil Engineering.
