Learn how to make a slab built ceramic vase. Join Sarah Burton in a relaxed and creative atmosphere at Rural Antics, Hanwell Wine to design and make a vase using the traditional hand building technique of slab building.
Roll out a slab of clay and use a 'former' as a guide whilst you make your vase. You will be able to decorate your vase with textures and underglazes. Sarah will apply a transparent glaze a few days later and fire your vase ready for you to collect from the Rural Antics a few weeks later.
Who is the workshop for: No previous experience is required. Suitable for beginner and more experienced potters.
What is included: All materials, firings and a 2 course lunch with a glass of local wine and refreshments throughout the day.
What to bring: Other than your creativity you will need to wear old clothes and/or an apron and bring a hand towel.
What you will achieve: Design, make your own ceramic vase.
