Rising in Biddulph Moor in Staffordshire, the River Trent flows for 210km towards its confluence with the Humber Estuary, forming a natural divide between the upland and lowland zones of Britain.
The talk will discuss how this unique river system evolved, the spread of early hunter-gatherers and the social, economic and landscape transformations associated with Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age farmers.
