From Workhouse ot Welfare Exhibition, 27th April - 6th November 2016, Southwell Workhouse
The new ‘From Workhouse to Welfare’ exhibition charts the changing role of The Workhouse in delivering health and social welfare during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The progression of inmates from paupers to patients is told through artefacts, quotes and the stories of those who lived and worked in the institution.
The exhibition which threads its way through various rooms in the house runs until Sunday 6 November, 12noon-4pm (Wednesday-Sunday and every day during August)
