Whitepost Farm

About

White Post Farm, where for over 30 years they have been entertaining millions of children and adults, giving them the chance to get up close to a wide variety of friendly animals.

As one of the East Midland’s most popular tourist attractions, White Post Farm can provide a unique day out with plenty of opportunities to get up close to the animals!

The farm covers around 25 acres of land, with more than 3,000 animals! These include classic farm animals, with many rare-breeds such as Oxford Sandy and Black pigs and Greyface Dartmoor sheep! As well as this, they are home to some more exotic animals, such as Armadillo’s and Crocodiles!

White Post Farm encourage you to get stuck in with animals, with opportunities to feed animals such as the sheep & goats in the fields, and even the guinea pigs inside the Silver Barn. They even offer the opportunity to get up close and spend some time with your favourite animal, by booking an Animal Encounter - they love the attention and are all very friendly.

Whatever the weather, there is plenty of play! With the outdoor play options including; Merv’s Lookout, the Sky Jumpers, The Beach & The Go-Kart Track. As well as some indoor play such as Miniville and the BRAND NEW Jungle Barn, an immersive jungle-themed play area for the avid climbers and exploring, including the Jungle Cafe for the adults!

White Post Farm is an ideal place to visit, even on wet and windy days, as over half of the farm is under cover, phew! This includes our Silver Barn, which is home to many rare-breeds, and depending on the time of year, our piglets, lambs & kids too! Alongside this, they have the new ‘Reptiles of the World’ exhibition, where you can see many reptiles from around the world… including our crocodiles!

If you fancy an outdoor stroll, why not take on the field walk and see some larger outside animals too? You can feed most of these animals with four-legged food which can be purchased from the entrance gate (£1.50 per bag)! White Post Farm’s field animals include alpacas, pigs, donkeys, sheep, cows, goats, deer, wallabies and so much more.

You can enjoy exclusive packages such as a Farmer or Reptile Keeper Experience, in which you are paired with a member of the team for either a morning or afternoon, where you can shadow and get stuck in! The farm cater this to your requirements and will include any animals you’d like. White Post Farm also offer Birthday party packages, which includes a VIP farm tour with a member of staff, some animal feeding and handling & exclusive hire of our party room, with children’s lunch-bags provided.

The site also includes a pet shop, where you can buy everything you need for your small or scaly animals. There is also a Pet Hotel in which you can leave your pet in the capable hands of the animal care team whilst you enjoy your holiday!

There is a variety of catering outlets available at the farm. This includes the Tea Rooms, open all-year-round, providing a variety of lunch items, coffee and cake, as well as some specials. The Lunch Barn offers a take-away food outlet, where you can grab a hot drink to take around with you, or a bite to eat. Also open now is the Jungle Cafe in the brand new indoor play area, The Jungle Barn.

The farm also run a variety of educational clubs throughout the year, including Little Farmers Club, aimed at 2-4 year olds. Ranger Academy clubs, which are for a variety of ages depending on the session you attend, and also Home Educator day, which focuses on a different topic, and is a free-flowing session with exclusive talks. You can find more information regarding these education clubs on the website.

Daytime admission tickets are available to book online, where you will receive a discounted price for pre-booking, in comparison to paying on the day. You do not need to book tickets for under 2’s, as these receive free admission to the farm. Carers who accompany our guests with additional needs can book online, and will receive admission at the rate of £3 (proof required in form of PIP/DLA letter, Blue Badge etc).
