Heritage Open Days at Green's Windmill

About

Wednesday 16 - Sunday 20 September 2026 | 10am – 4pm
Green's Windmill and Science Centre
Free

Green's Windmill is a restored 19th Century tower mill, once home to mathematical physicist George Green. For Heritage Open Days, we'll be running a special exhibition chronicling the mill's history using excerpts from our extensive archive. In the adjacent science centre, discover the remarkable story of George Green and experiment with the things that fascinated him, such as light, electricity and magnetism. After your visit, explore the award-winning community garden, much like a typical garden from Green's day.

Please note that due to the windmill building requiring extensive repair work, there will be no access to this part of the site. The work is due to be completed in November 2026.
