Nottingham Arts Theatre
Tickets £9
In a captivating blend of drama and reflection, poet and director Campbell Kay explores the challenges of adapting real lives for the stage, drawing on his own works Phoenix Rising (Lawrence), Divine Mountebank (Wolfit), and poems from Devils' Wine and Letters From Venice. The event shines a light on Nottinghamshire-born literary giant D.H. Lawrence - whose early fiction drew deeply from autobiography - and celebrates the flamboyant legacy of Newark's Sir Donald Wolfit, an actor-manager whose theatrical flair brought Shakespeare to the masses. It's a compelling journey through biography, performance, and personal narrative.
Ticket includes a copy of the new publication Divine Mountebank.
All proceeds from this performance go to support the educational work of Nottingham Arts Theatre.
