About

Light Night 2020
Friday 7 and Saturday 8 February 2020

Light Night – Nottingham’s famous night of eclectic and electric light installations – is back, and this year it’s bigger and better... with the events spanning two days rather than one!

On Friday 7 and Saturday 8 February, the streets of Nottingham City Centre will come alive with the work of fantastic artists, including an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) trail, with art by Jason Wilsher-Mills. Pieces will be scattered throughout the city, and, using our BRAND-NEW NLN2020 app, you can bring them to life!*

Get it on Google PlayDownload on the App Store

*If you're having trouble downloading the NLN2020 app, check out our Google Map or download your own route guide instead.

This year, we've also produced a fantastic, souvenir Festival Guide, packed with everything you need for an amazing experience. There are discount vouchers for food, drink and shopping, that all-important map, set trails to follow, artist profiles and loads more. It's just £2 and on sale now from Central Library or the Nottingham Tourism Centre, or you can pre-order to collect on the night.

NOTE: The Guide is ordered through our Ticketing Agent, Gigantic Tickets, which means there are some references to "tickets" – don't worry, it's just the techy stuff from their website. Light Night is very much FREE for everyone to enjoy; although there is the opportunity to make a small donation, to help us source great artists and new exhibitions next year.

In partnership with It's In Nottingham, the city will be showered with parades, magnificent light sculptures, breath-taking performances, a large-scale projected installation on the Council House from the artists MBD and more! Following the theme Life on Earth, this year's FREE event is not to be missed.

This event is supported by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Nottingham City Council and Nottingham BID.

We've picked out a few of the highlights and things you don't want to miss in our Light Night blog - read it here.
