Macramé Wall Hanger Workshop

About

Sunday 2nd April | 2023 | 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Hanwell Wine Estate
£59.00

In this workshop, you will learn the most common techniques and knots used when making macramé wall hangings. You will start by choosing cords and colours and then you will learn a few of the more useful knots such as the square knot, the half square knot and the double half hitch.

After practicing knots, you will begin your wall hanging, all following the same pattern. You are also free to add your own touches to your piece as you go along to make it completely unique to your style.

Your tutor will help with design tips and how best to approach your project to ensure you finish the workshop with a lovely piece of art that you will be proud to display at home or give to someone as a gift.

There will be handouts available for everyone to use on the day as reference for knots and patterns. These can be taken away with you so you can practice the techniques that you learn at home and hopefully make more lovely wall hanging designs in the future.

In this workshop you will learn:
Square knot
Twisting half square knot
Double half hitch
Larkshead knot
Wrap knot
The best way to use these knots in your designs and how to create variations of the knots.
The different types of cord used in macramé projects and how to select the correct cord for your projects.
Tips on how to measure for your projects.

Who is the workshop for: Suitable for complete beginners.

What is included? All tools and materials are included along with refreshments.
