RSPB Sherwood Forest hosts a weekend of music and dance this May Bank Holiday.
On Sunday 5 May the Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers will mark VE Day with a selection of rousing favourites at the nature reserve.
They will perform at the Visitor Centre amphitheatre at 12.30pm and again at 2.45pm and will be supported on this occasion by the U3A recorder group.
Then on Monday 6th May, it is a festival of traditional dance. It all gets underway at 12pm when the Duke's Dandy Step Clog Group and the Feet First Appalachian Dance Team will strut their stuff. From the Appalachian mountains of the USA, to the traditions of northern England.
There is a Sherwood debut for the Maltby Sword Dance troupe, who will deliver a show of longsword dancing from Yorkshire. And we're thrilled to have a delightful performance of song from none other than Maid Marian of The Sherwood Outlaws.
Admission to the concert is free, although parking charges do apply.
