The Workhouse and Infirmary
Free (suggested donation £5 on arrival)
Join a lantern making workshop at The Workhouse and Infirmary on either Sat 19 Nov or Sat 26 Nov to create a special lantern filled with memories of people, places and things that have had a lot of meaning in your life. Please note that booking is essential.
Bring your family and enjoy being creative by crafting a memory lantern from scratch using recycled materials.
The workshops will take place on Saturday 19 November (2pm - 4pm) and Saturday 26 November (10am - 12pm). These workshops are best suited for ages 3 - 11. Parents must supervise.
Be inspired by others at the workshop as well as talented artist Mel Rye, who will be leading the workshops and offering support to make your lantern the very best it can be.
There will be a donation box at The Workhouse on the day. Suggested donation £5.
Once your lantern is completed, it will be used to light the way in an atmospheric and gentle lantern procession around The Workhouse and Infirmary site.
This will take place on Saturday 3 December, meeting at 4.45pm for a 5pm start. You will be invited to carry your own and show it off to the world! (Please see our other event on the 'What's On' page for more details).
Numbers are limited, so early booking is recommended.
