The Nottingham Chamber Music Festival (NCMF2025) returns for a weekend packed with concerts in Nottingham’s cultural spaces!
Nottingham’s only classical music festival welcomes newbies and culture vultures to hear some of the UK’s top classical artists. Join this celebration of classical music in Nottingham!

"Busk n' Brew" is back! A pop-up chamber music event at Blend Café in Nottingham Contemporary!
In the lead-up to the Nottingham Chamber Music Festival weekend, audiences are invited to enjoy a relaxing afternoon of live music performed by students from the Rosin Academy and local ensembles, all paired perfectly with the brew of your choice at Blend Cafe.

Notes from the Score invites musicians, scholars, and enthusiasts to explore the exciting programme for NCMF2025. This online webinar will share insights into the artists and composers who will perform on our stages. Join Director Carmen Flores and guest speaker William Ruff, as they give behind-the-scenes perspectives into how the Nottingham Chamber Music Festival transforms our city into a musical canvas.

Nottingham’s beloved food hall sets the stage for a musical feast, where the brilliant Le Page Trio brings classical and folk-infused chamber music to life. Villiers Quartet: Play Along Workshop
It’s your chance to play alongside the Villiers Quartet! Join the VQ for a fun group play-along of Schubert’s “Rosamunde” Quartet in A minor in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s in the Lace Market. Bring your stringed instrument, a packed lunch, and gain new insights into this exquisite music. This workshop is open to student and adult musicians, and to observers.

In the spectacular surroundings of St Mary’s Church, the Villiers Quartet perform a breathtaking concert. Haydn’s Quartet in D Major op. 76/5 was composed during the golden period of Haydn’s writing for string quartet. Canadian composer Vivian Fung’s stunning Quartet No. 1 takes inspiration from folk music of China and Indonesia. The concert finishes with Franz Schubert’s mesmerising “Rosamunde” Quartet in A minor. A perfect concert for a summer’s evening.

For our annual coffee concert, acclaimed pianist Rebeca Omordia brings her African Concert Series – in resident at the Wigmore Hall – to the Nottingham Chamber Music Festival. She is joined by kora and percussion player Moussa Dembele, for a compelling programme of classical music from West Africa and the African Diaspora.

Musicians of Sinfonia Viva
Join Musicians of Sinfonia Viva for a fun family concert created especially for children aged 7–11. In partnership with MishMash Productions, this delightful concert is filled with curiosity, wonder, and joy. With playful performances on violin, clarinet, and bassoon, it's a perfect introduction to the magic of chamber music!
This performance is approximately 45 minutes with no interval.

The musical worlds of composers Louise Farrenc and Franz Schubert converge in this concert featuring piano chamber music. A brilliant yet overlooked figure of the Romantic era, French composer Louise Farrenc (1804 – 1875) crafted works of remarkable depth and elegance. Her Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 34 receives a Nottingham premiere, shining a spotlight on her artistry.
Schubert’s joyous “Trout” Piano Quintet in A Major also takes centre stage, performed by our wonderful Festival Artists. Filled with warmth, lyricism, and boundless energy, the quintet’s brilliant interplay between piano and strings brings the evening to a festive close.

Mendi Singh, tabla
Tāla Tarang (meaning “Rhythm Waves”) is the dynamic duo of Eleanor Turner, harp, and Mendi Singh, tabla. With backgrounds coming from classical harp and Indian tabla music, these two master musicians push the boundaries of what is possible. They captivate audiences of all backgrounds, telling their stories as a chamber duo that celebrates nature and humanity.
Hear them in Nottingham Contemporary for a series of three riveting programmes, as they perform music at the Festival’s Miniatures @ Nottingham Contemporary series.

The Le Page Ensemble
In the Park Tunnel
A concert in one of Nottingham's hidden gems. For our closing event, join us in the enigmatic Grade II listed Park Tunnel, built in 1855 as an entrance to the Park Estate. A string quartet from the Le Page Ensemble will perform an eclectic mix of works to evoke the mystery of the tunnel, including music by Philip Glass, J.S. Bach, Kraftwerk, and a new work specially commissioned for the festival by composer SuRie. This concert brings chamber music into the Park Tunnel to celebrate the acoustic qualities of this historical space, for a truly unique and memorable experience.
Presented in association with the Nottingham Park Residents Association supporting their campaign to enhance the wildlife and biodiversity of the Park Estate.
