Chess returns to the Nottingham Theatre Royal for the first time since 2010 in a new, reimagined production.
Chess is a dramatic rock musical about chess champions caught in the crossfire of the Cold War. Set against political manipulation and espionage, the characters discover that love and personal loyalty are easily exploited when superpowers play for control.
Written by ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, alongside lyricist Sir Tim Rice, it has one of the best musical scores, featuring iconic tracks like "One Night in Bangkok" and "I Know Him So Well".
Come watch 'the games begin' with this new production, from the company that brought you Les Misérables and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2025.
