Nottingham Poetry Festival 2020

Various Venues, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
Nottingham Poetry Festival 2020

Friday 13 - Sunday 22 November 2020

Live events at Metronome and Nonsuch Studios, plus a full digital livestream programme

Nottingham Poetry Festival will be launching from the 13 – 22 November 2020. This year the Poetry Festival is a blended festival, mixing a small number of live events with an online programme. It will touch on the importance of poetic education, rebel against the notion that poetry is optional, and showcase the contemporary voices speaking now.

This year's performers include Bafta nominated International prize winning writer Lemn Sissay, award-winning writer and performer Vanessa Kisuule, British-born Cypriot poet, fiction writer, essayist, publisher and poetry educator Anthony Anaxagorou, and Nottingham Poetry Festival co-founder and critically-acclaimed TV and film, BAFTA-award-winning writer and producer Henry Normal.

Nottingham Poetry Festival will once again present an eclectic line-up of acclaimed national and local poets and performers. As Creative Director, Nottingham’s first Young Poet Laureate Georgina Wilding will lead the event through ten days of live and online spoken-word performances, panel discussions and readings, featuring some of the most renowned poets in the country.

With spoken-word performances and workshops from:

Lemn Sissay | Henry Normal | Anthony Anaxagorou | Vanessa Kisuule
Ruth Padel | Nick Makoha | Pete the Temp

Debris Stevenson | GOBS Collective and more

Plus, In Defence of Poetry: Panel Discussion

Hosted by John Berkavitch
