Nottingham Shakespeare Company presents A Midsummer Night's Dream

Various, Nottingham
Nottingham Shakespeare Company Midsummer Nights Dream Free Theatre

Various dates: 4-13 July
City centre venues
Free event

Nottingham Shakespeare Company is a community theatre gruop dedicated to bringing fresh, contemporary, accessible interpretations of the Bard to everyone in Nottingham.

Formed in 2018, they have appeared in street theatre and revue and their inaugural full production, A Midsummer Night's Dream, comes to Nottingham in July! All performances are free, with no ticket required, just bring a chair.

Artistic Director, Michelle, says, "We love Shakespeare and just want to share that love with everyone! We want every person in Nottingham to have access to quality and exciting Shakespeare. Our production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is only 90 minutes - fast and furious but with all of Shakespeare's wonderful comedy and romance there in full too."

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a wild story of love, chaos and magic. Lysander and Hermia flee to the woods to escape her arranged marriage but her intended pursues them, followed by her infatuated best friend. Unbeknownst to them, the world of Faery is tuned topsy turvy as its King and Queen are feuding and a terrible Amateur Drama group are rehearsing in the middle of it all. Cue confusion and shenanigans as the faeries have fun at the humans' expense!
