As a delivery partner for the BFI's Film Academy Network, Broadway has been working with 18 talented young filmmakers aged 16 to 19 from across the region to develop their filmmaking skills and prepare them for a career in the film industry. As part of the program, the students have produced three short films featuring professional actors and shot using industry standard equipment. This is a great opportunity to watch the shorts and meet the young and talented directors, producers and writers behind them.
DISTRACTION, PARALIESED and WEDGED were all written and produced by the young aspiring filmmakers. Each film last around five minutes and each group will present their film and take part in a Q&A.
The third BFI Film Academy delivered by Broadway took place between January and March 2014. Eighteen young people aged 16-‐19 took part in an intensive “Experience Film” programme involving 91 hours of activity, which included practical filmmaking and developing an understanding of film theory, the film industry, and the production of short films.
Tickets for this event are FREE and are available from Broadway’s box office, on 01159526611 and online at http://www.broadway.org.uk/events/film_bfi_film_academy_short_film_showcase
